We will learn How to Configure Chef Server
Centos 7. Chef is Open Source tool to manage to your chef client or chef nodes from a centralised location in cloud and local Intranet.

1. Install Packages of Linux :--  (requirement)
 yum install -y wget curl

Now Set the Hostname of your Chef Server :-
hostnamectl set-hostname

2. Download the Chef Server Package Link.
rpm -ivh chef*.rpm
rpm -ivh chef-server-core-12.17.33-1.el7.x86_64.rpm

3. After the install chef server package Restart the Service :--
chef-server-ctl reconfigure

4. Create Administrator User Account :-
chef-server-ctl user-create surender singh bhandari 'redhat' --filename /etc/chef/surender.pem

5. Create Organization :-
chef-server-ctl org-create surenderlinux 'linuxhilinux' --association_user surender --filename /etc/chef/surender.pem

6. Install Chef Manage Console :-
Two type installation

  • Command line
  • Download the package and install it.

Command line :-
chef-server-ctl install chef-manage

Download package and install it :- link
rpm -ivh chef-manage-2.5.4-1.el7.x86_64.rpm
7. Now Reconfiguration the Chef Server :-
chef-server-ctl reconfigure
chef-manage-ctl reconfigure

Username :- surender
Password :- redhat

Now, We will Configure Chef Workstation and Chef Client or Chef Node.
